So I’ve officially reached my 100th post! I have been blogging for 3 1/2 months now and although I’m still not the best at blogging, I really love it! I had been debating for years whether to start blogging or not. It’s a process, don’t let anyone tell you different. It gets hectic, especially if your everyday life is busy. Imagine if I had kids on top of my already chaotic work schedule, I’d never have started this journey. At one point, about a month into this, I almost threw in the towel. Yep, I almost pulled my hair out because I stayed so late at work all that week and didn’t have time to finish reading some books that I wanted to review. I can’t stop working so I said blogging must go, and I’d just keep doing my Goodreads thing and continue supporting all the other bloggers that I follow. Okay…. enough ranting. I just want to do a little giveaway because I am excited and proud of myself for continuing on with this blog. A few years ago, a little girl from my hometown published her first novel. I think she was 14-years-old at the time, she may be 18 now *shrugs*. For the most part, I enjoyed her book. You can read my review HERE if you’d like. I gave it 4 stars, not because she is from my hometown, but because she actually did a great job for her to be 14. It’s rated YA but I think it’s more MG than anything. The book…..
Author: Alexis Dowdell
Title: Dream Bound Secrets: The Restoration of Elasia
Publisher: Createspace
Release Date: December 8, 2011
Genre: YA/MG Paranormal
DESCRIPTION
Dead or Alive? Dana Vandyke, a supposed-to-be normal sixteen-year-old, cannot seem to answer the question… unless she swallowed her obstinacy and answered the far more important ones first. Were vampires real? Dana Vandyke didn’t know. Until slowly her life began to change in the most eye-widening, shocking ways imaginable and the answer to that last question would soon be answered if she only continued to live through her secretive, mysterious, dream-bound life.
So……I am giving away my paperback copy of this book to one of you lucky readers. To enter, just comment on this post with your email (so that I may contact you if you win) and tell me why you want to read this book. That’s it!! It ends on July 24th at midnight!

I would love to read this, and see how good it is. I am sure this 14 yr old writes better than some adults I have read that were self published. This seems like my kind of book!

I would love to read this book and share it with my daughter. She’s been writing for a couple of years now and she’s only ten. I want her to realize that it’s never too young to begin following your dreams. If she can see that a 14-year-old girl has a book in print – and about subjects that my daughter loves – my daughter will be even more excited about writing. michelle_willms at yahoo dot com.
