Kindle Kandy #2

Kindle Kandy Plain

Kindle Kandy is a Friday weekly meme, hosted by The Book Dame, that spotlights books that we own but have yet to read.

Random books from my ereader this week that I haven’t read yet are…………..

12578077Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring… until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something… unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don’t kill him first, that is.

21936988I am the perfect weapon.
I kill with a single touch.

Twylla is blessed. The Gods have chosen her to marry a prince, and rule the kingdom. But the favour of the Gods has it’s price. A deadly poison infuses her skin. Those who anger the queen must die under Twylla’s fatal touch.

Only Lief, an outspoken new guard, can see past Twylla’s chilling role to the girls she truly is.

Yet in a court as dangerous and the queen’s, some truths should not be told…

10194157Surrounded by enemies, the once-great nation of Ravka has been torn in two by the Shadow Fold, a swath of near impenetrable darkness crawling with monsters who feast on human flesh. Now its fate may rest on the shoulders of one lonely refugee.

Alina Starkov has never been good at anything. But when her regiment is attacked on the Fold and her best friend is brutally injured, Alina reveals a dormant power that saves his life—a power that could be the key to setting her war-ravaged country free. Wrenched from everything she knows, Alina is whisked away to the royal court to be trained as a member of the Grisha, the magical elite led by the mysterious Darkling.

Yet nothing in this lavish world is what it seems. With darkness looming and an entire kingdom depending on her untamed power, Alina will have to confront the secrets of the Grisha . . . and the secrets of her heart.

Shadow and Bone is the first installment in Leigh Bardugo’s Grisha Trilogy.

These 3 are coming up on my list to read, so if nothing distracts me, I’ll be getting to these soon. What books do you own that you haven’t read yet?

  1. Shadow and Bone is one I really want to try! I have heard so many good things about it, so you are probably in store for a great read when you get round to it. Obsidian is the only JLA book I have ever read, and I should keep on going with the series xd Lots of people completely love it, but the idea was a bit strange for me and well, it was a bit weird. But I liked it well enough 🙂

  2. I remember loving Obsidian! I have yet to finish the series (story of my life), but I definitely recommend that book. Shadow and Bone made my KK last week. I have too many series to start and not enough time!

  3. You should totally read Obsidian. I haven’t finished the series, but that is my constant pattern even if I like a series, but Obsidian was what I refer to as a life changer, for my reading life anyway. I never would have thought that a book about aliens would appeal to any part of my reading senses, but it did. I loved Daemon. That’s right, I loved the alien. I would love to see what you think
I have Shadow and Bone too. Damn…So many books.

    • I just keep putting it off for some insane reason. But, I’ve read a lot of fangirl posts, tweets, statuses etc…. about Daemon. LOL! I’ll definitely be bumping this up on my to-read list. So many books, so little time.

I love comments, and try to reply as often as I can. Know that I read each and every one.
