Stacking The Shelves #54

Stacking The Shelves is a weekly meme, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, that spotlights the books we are adding to our shelves; whether they be virtual or physical.

I’m trying to get back into my regular posting schedule, and it looks like that will happen pretty soon. RL is kicking my butt right now, and it’s hard to keep my eyes open half the time because I’m so tired. These are the books that I’ve gotten over the past 2 weeks. Hope you guys have a great weekend!

Can’t wait to read this one!

Physical Books

IMAG0455-1-1Go Set A Watchman by Harper Lee Excited and apprehensive about this one. I plan to start it in a couple of weeks; maybe next week if I’m up for it.

Destroyed (Dark Road Series #1) by Krys Fenner Blog Tour win from the author. This is a YA Psychological Thriller, so hopefully I will love it.

  1. I am actually really curious about Go Set A Watchman. I did read To Kill a Mockingbird and although I did like it I wasn’t head over heels in love with it. I have heard that this book also paints some characters in a very different light than before. I am wondering what it will be like…

    • I’m scared to read it. TKAM is my favorite book of all time. To take away my impression of the characters and replace it, is not something I’m looking forward to. I’ve been reading reviews and dreading that I bought it right now.

  2. I’m curious to see what you end up thinking about The Raven Boys, because I’ve enjoyed this authors books before. I’ve heard mixed reviews on Harper Lee’s newest book. It looks like you got a good amount of new books to read! Happy Reading Lekeisha 🙂

  3. I’m definitely on the fence about Go Set A Watchman, especially with all of the controversy. I hope you enjoy The Raven Boys, I read/listened to it in June and really enjoyed it.

    • Sorcerer……. has been on my radar for about 2 months and I saw it on Netgalley and had to request it. I could have waited but I was so anxious to read it. Shadowshaper is one that I’ve had my eye on since the beginning of the year.

  4. I think I know more about Go Set a Watchman than I do about To Kill a Mockingbird because of all of the controversy surrounding it! I have never read the first (Ducks head) – but enjoy!

    • TKAM is a great novel to read. I’ve read it so much that I know it by heart. I’ve been scared and excited to read GSAW, and hopefully, I will like it. I’ve been dodging those reviews that have been pouring in. I want to see how I take to it.

      • It was never set reading for me when I was in secondary school and it isn’t a book that I would pick up on my own – I probably should read it though! There was a lot of controversy around the MC … But I don’t want to ruin it for you! Enjoy! 🙂

    • You and me both! TKAM is my all time favorite novel, and I’ve read it countless times since I was a teen. I’m so scared to read GSAW though. But, I’m anxious as well.

    • Shadowshaper has been on my watch list since January. I just started it, so I haven’t gotten far. Sorceror to the Crown has been on my list as well. I hope to love them all!
