THOUGHTS I could have done without this one. Well, I think so. It wasn’t as exciting as I thought it would be. That’s not to say that I didn’t like it, because I did. So, it’s safe to say that this is setting up for Glass Sword. Because, if not, then I really think that it wasn’t needed. It does give you hints of what is to come, but not clearly enough. I flew through this novella within an hour or so. Maybe I rushed it, who knows.
This is about Queen Coriane, Cal’s mother. It’s quite depressing really. What did I expect, when she’s going on and on about her life and how she came to be Queen in this diary/journal. What Is interesting is this:
“Cal’s flame will build and bring roots from the ashes of war. The guns will quiet, the smoke will clear, and the soldiers, Red and Silver both, will come home. One hundred years of war, and my son will bring peace. He will not die fighting. He will not. HE WILL NOT.”
Makes you wonder just what the flip is about to go down. Well, for one thing, this woman was not crazy like people thought her to be. It lets you see exactly how manipulative Elara is. Good short, but I need the next book. Can’t wait until February!

I’ve heard such mixed things about Red Queen that I’m not even interested in it anymore. The hype has died down, and with it went all the praising reviews. I still see that some people have enjoyed it, whereas others, completely thought it was a snore fest. I’m definitely on the fence about this one.

I loved it for the fantasy and magical aspects. That love triangle thing that’s going on isn’t my thing but I tried to overlook it.

This sounds like a decent read, but one that you were able to fly through pretty quickly and didn’t add much to the main plot of things. More like an intro or filler. But I hope you still enjoy the sequel coming in February!

I love the cover for this one but I’m kind of iffy about actually picking it up. It’s definitely not on my immediate tbr but maybe I’ll pick it up in the future. Can’t wait for Glass Sword!

I mean, it’s definitely something to think about getting. There’s also the other novella that drops in January. I’m kind of OCD with these stories, because if I read one novella, then I have to read the others. It wasn’t all bad though. I just think I could have passed this one and still get back into the next book with no problem.

There’s another novella? I’m thinking that I would more read these novellas for a read-a-thon or an end of the year quick read. I’m definitely with you on not wanting to have to read ALL the novellas just because I read one of them.

Yes, the other one comes out early Jan. 2016 so I know that I will have to read it or I’ll just go crazy.
