I really enjoyed reading Like Candy, so when I saw this sequel I had to request it. I try so hard to stay away from NG, EW, and Amazon. I’m trying to do a million and one things, and requesting or buying more books right now is not what I need to be doing. I’ll see how long this will last. Luckily, all of my library reads have been on my TBR for years.
Library e-books
Zora and Me is one that I’ve wanted to read for years. I’m already about 25% done with it, so maybe I’ll finish over the weekend. Couldn’t resist the next Finishing School, so C&C was a must. Am I the only one who hasn’t read 1984 by George Orwell? I have been meaning to read it since I was a teen, but never got around to it. I’ve never read a book by Mary Morrison, but someone suggested that I try her out since I love E.J. Dickey. We shall see how If I Can’t Have You goes. And it’s about time that I started on the Kate Daniels series, so MB was a must grab.
What books did you add to your shelves this week? Hope you all have a great weekend!
Oh man these books look fabulous. I seriously am trying to stay away from books but the STS posts from you are definitely not helping me not want to buy books. I hope you enjoy all your new beauties!!!

I haven’t been requesting many lately. LOL! I’m slowing down until the end of the year, unless the book releases after March 2016.

No, as familiar as I am with the story of 1984, I actually haven’t “officially” read it either, so you’re not alone! And I know you loved the first Finishing School book, I don’t think I would have been able to resist either 🙂

I hope to start them both some time this week.

Use Overdrive and all you need to do is find your library’s eBook service, put in your library card # and voilà! Most libraries use Overdrive all over the world & you can read from your browser or borrow it from Amazon. I like to just DL from Amazon.

I prefer printed books myself. However, lately I’m hard up for cash and space, so I’ve been getting Kindle freebies and “cheapies” on Amazon! Lol. I now have more than ONE HUNDRED books on my Android phone, thanks to the Kindle app. So I have a hard time staying away from these e-books, except that they’re either free or very cheap, so there’s no bad repercussions on my wallet or shelf space. But I still prefer printed books…..
“Magic Bites” and “1984” are on my Goodreads TBR shelves. And no, you’re not the only one who hasn’t read “1984”! Lol..
I REALLY want to read “Zora and Me”, because it’s based on the life of Zora Neale Hurston.
Thanks for sharing your haul! Happy Saturday!! : )

Yes, I prefer print books as well. Especially my favorite authors. It seems I read quicker on my Kindle though, because I don’t need a light when I’m reading in bed. BF needs his sleep. LOL

I like this haul! I am actually currently read 1984 for school. I think it is an okay book but at the moment it is taking me a while to get into it. However, it is so fun to analyse because it’s a literary masterpiece and so well crafted! The more I think about it, the more clever I realise the book truly is. Also, you really did like Like Candy so I hope you enjoy this next book as well!

If i had taken another teacher’s course in high school, I’m sure 1984 would have been read then, as it was on the syllabus. Mrs. McCree chose books that no one but her wanted to read. Aside from a few of course. LOL
