Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas last week. This haul is mostly what I got for Christmas, and a few others thrown in because I couldn’t help myself.

I decided to get a few of my wishlist books so that I can read them soon. I’m reading the first book in the Grisha Trilogy, so I went ahead and got Siege & Storm. My aunt Mary gifted me a copy of Carry On and I was shocked to see it in my email Christmas morning. Of course, it took me 4 days to read it because I’ve been binge watching lots of my favorite shows on Demand. And I was gifted Bad Ex Karma from Lexxie over at  (Un)Conventional Book Views.

I read Magic Slays in one sitting yesterday, and am almost done with Magic Rises. I have no words for TCoSB. Just no.

Rook | The Heart of Betrayal | Passenger | Illuminae | The Last Faerie Queen

Scholastic sent me copies of Rook for participating in their #12DaysofYA. I will be giving away a copy soon! Disney-Hyperion sent me the finished copy of Passenger, which I plan to reread very soon. I got myself Illuminae and The Heart of Betrayal with my Christmas gift cards. And I won a copy of The Last Faerie Queen via Rockstar Book Tours. I’m hoping that this sequel will make me want to keep going with the series, because book one was just okay for me.

That’s all for me these past few weeks. I’ve enjoyed my 2 weeks off, but it’s back to work on Monday. I’ve done lots of TV and movie watching. And of course, football. My team won the semifinal round against Michigan State on New Years Eve, so we will play for the National Championship on the 11th against Clemson. I’m very happy & nervous right now. *Fingers crossed* What books did you add to your shelves? Happy weekend!

  3. Great haul! I’m a couple books behind on the Kate Daniels series. I think the last book I read in the series was Magic Rises. I need to get caught up again with the books this year. Happy reading!

  4. Great haul, you’ve got a ton of great books. I just finished Illuminae today and it was soooooooo good!!! I can’t wait for the sequel to release. I really want Passenger but need to wait till next month. Christmas took all of my money haha. I hope you enjoy your books 🙂 Happy new year!

  6. Are you loving Shadow and Bone? I devoured the first two Grisha books. One of my blogging buddies sent me Ruin and Rising for my birthday over a year ago, but I haven’t read it because I saw “the” spoiler for it the day it released, on someone’s non-spoiler review post. Why someone would comment with a spoiler on a non-spoilers post is beyond me. Anyway it took the excitement away for me, but I plan on reading it this year for sure. I am sorry to hear about the Anne Rice fairytale retelling. I only found out about those a couple of months ago and added them to my Goodreads TBR. I loved the three vampire books I read, but tried her first witch story and couldn’t get into it. Happy New Year. 🙂

  10. Oh my goodness I am so in love with this haul! Especially the paperback books because basically ALL of them are ones I want to read at some point, especially Illuminae. On top of that, I love the looks of all the Illona Andrews. You really are enjoying her books! Carry On seems to be a commonly loved book too :3

  19. Ahh, Ilona Andrews should be fun! I need to read Magic Slays and Magic Rises soon too. I need to get round to reading Carry On as well — I’ve peeked at spoilers, but not read it properly yet! Hope you enjoy all the new books.

  22. Those are goodly piles there. I got Illuminae for Christmas and already devoured it. I’ve had the Grisha trio recommended so that’s on my radar for this year, too. Love seeing you binging on Kate Daniels. Glad you had a restful holiday break.

  24. Nice haul! I love all things Ilona Andrews and I am thrilled that you are enjoying the Kate Daniels series. I liked Illuminae but I had a digital copy and I think that it will be even better in paper. I have Emmy & Oliver sitting on my kindle account begging to be read. I actually picked up a couple of the freebies that you mentioned. Thanks for sharing!

    • I’m loving the hell out of the series. I couldn’t put Magic Slays down to save my life yesterday, and I started Magic Rises but I had to sleep. I’ll finish it today though and probably will start book 7.

  31. That’s a great haul, Lekeisha, and I’m very happy to see several of the Kate Daniels books on your list. That series is so well done – I love Kate and Curran and all the other characters that make this universe unique 😀
