Add To Goodreads Is the love of a bad man as fulfilling as that of a good man—if he’s good to you?
The fantasy for most women is the happily ever after, the white knight or the prince charming. Or maybe they imagine the hero swoops in to save them from their mundane existence. But what happens if you catch the attention of the villain instead? Tiffany aka Karma is about to find out…
Karma isn’t just a name; it’s a way of life for an exotic dancer with a taste for vigilante justice. She should have been more careful though, because her deeds haven’t gone completely unnoticed. A man who isn’t quite human, with the predilection for destruction, has set his sights on her. His brand of love is tainted…twisted, and Karma is powerless to resist.
REVIEW
I was really looking forward to reading this one. I was all set for a seductive PNR, but what I got instead was a whole lot of horny stripper and an anti-heroic stalker. Don’t get me wrong, the story isn’t all bad, but this is one of those books that I can do without. I never felt all that connected to the characters, and the pacing started out fast – too fast. I was hell bent on finding out what the connection and history was between Karma and Lucian. So much so, that it took me 2 weeks to read the book. There are definitely some moments that will make you not want to put it down. But, then the pacing would slow, and lots of inconsequential things are thrown in to drag the story out. I wish more time was spent on fully developing the characters, and not on the not-so-funny dialogue that was used to fill this story out.
Karma is on the job, and scoping out her target.
Oh, did I forget to mention she’s a vigilante stripper? She has these weird premonitions about scumbags and she deals out justice in the worst way. Someone else is well aware of her dirty deeds. Lucian isn’t exactly an innocent bystander.
Speaking of police; Karma is more than willing to jump Officer Moretti’s bones. Well, he’s hot and she’s horny. It was inevitable.
This could have been an awesome story, had it been presented differently. I wasn’t a fan of Karma or Lucian, and I didn’t really get to know Moretti to get any sort of feels. If it weren’t for Lucian’s mysterious character, I probably would have given up. I just had to know how it all would end. I wasn’t impressed. Not a bad story, just not for me. Who knows, this may totally be someone’s favorite read.
Well that sucks, finally got a copy of this book to find out it sucks. I hate not connecting with the characters.

You may like it Jennifer, so give it a shot. It was just not presented that great.

Great review! So much fun to read.
I have been on a streak where I have been reading books like this…Ones that I could simply do without. It is a shame too, with all the books that we have to read. It seems a horrible waste of time. Well, we have to get through them to get to the ones that will rock our world. I hope your next read does just that!

I wanted to read it after reading an excerpt. I’m not totally bummed about it, though.

A vigilante stripper that turns out to just be kind of an excuse for horniness? I don’t think I’d fall in love with this one, either, Lekeisha, mostly because you couldn’t connect with the characters, and didn’t even really enjoy them.
Great review 🙂

She thought about sex way too much. Some readers enjoy these annoying heroines, but not me.

Boo I’m sorry but if the cover didn’t scare me away, the ” Vigilante Stripper ” aspect DEFINITELY did. WTF a stripper with premonitions??? NO THANK YOU lol!

LOL! I actually like the cover.

Sorry this one didn’t work out for you. Vigilante stripper would’ve pulled me into reading this one as well. Shoot a little while ago I read a romance about an environmentalist male stripper doing it to save cute woodland creatures. 😛

Haha, Bonus that it’s from the 80’s too. It’s called Lightning That Lingers by Sharon & Tom Curtis.

I totally just checked to see if my library had it. It doesn’t, but $3.99 is too much for a book that may be a bust for me. If it were .99 I would one-click.

Awww yeah, 3.99 is a little much to pay for that one. Maybe it’ll go on sale.

Eee I don’t think this one is for me! I do delve into NA a little bit here and there, but I don’t really like the sound of this random combination of stripper and stalker 😛 But it seems like there were moments which you enjoyed reading, but the others where it really dragged…

I liked not knowing what Lucian was up to. That mystery kept me going. And then there was nothing.

Luckily this isn’t one I would have picked up. Though the vigilante stripper doesn’t sound so bad, it’s the perfect place to be to see the ‘bad guys’. Though I suppose she could have just been a waitress or something. Sorry this was disappointing though!

I was looking forward to the whole “stripper kicks butt” aspect, but it fell totally flat. It was like a bad Hancock (without the super powers) and strip club mashup.

This sounds like one that would just end up frustrating me. Wonderful honest review, I think I will pass on this one though. 😉

I giggled like a school boy everytime you mentioned the horny stripper! This doesn’t really appeal to me. It’s difficult for me to enjoy a book that doesn’t have much development.
Sorry this wasn’t the best read for you, Lekeisha!

This book sounds strange. Vigilante stripper? I could see how that could come together for an interesting story but it sounds like this one missed its mark. I can’t believe that you stuck with this book for two weeks. I hope your next read is much better!

I started this before Christmas, and then I put it down for about a week, and picked it back up. And put it down. And on and on and on…

It does sound interesting with a stripper vigilante and a bad guy stalker, but sometimes the execution doesn’t match the promise. That happens to me a lot. Onward to the next book, right?
