Stacking The Shelves is a weekly meme, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, that spotlights the books we are adding to our shelves; whether they be virtual or physical.
Library/Kindle Purchases & Freebies
What Is Not Yours Is Not Yours | Halfway Bitten | The Hurricane | Imperfect Chemistry | A Study in Charlotte
I have been dying to read What Is Not Yours Is Not Yours since I saw it last year. I loved Oyeyemi’s Boy Snow Bird – which I will review next week – she is an amazing writer. I told myself the freebies were banned until I either read the ones I already have or delete them from my Kindle. I was doing fine until Jazmen reviewed Imperfect Chemistry and told us it was free to DL! I blame you for this. Seriously though, it was too tempting not to one-click.
Purchased/First Reads/For Review
A Tyranny of Petticoats | Starflight | Written in Red | Americanah | Magic Shifts
And After Many Days | The Vegetarian | Chicago: A Novel
I’ve already devoured Magic Shifts, and will probably start one of the others this weekend. Or maybe not. Thanks to Penguin Random House & St. Martin’s Press for And After Many Days, The Vegetarian, and Chicago.
That’s all for me this week. I’m sorry if I’ve been MIA around the blogosphere. I’ve been trying to visit you guys, but I’ve been sick and busy. I’ve been off since Wednesday with migraines, high blood pressure, and helping my sister out while her husband took her for her infusion. I had the kids, so they let me be because they know auntie is cranky when she’s not feeling well. I’m sure I’ll be back together by tomorrow, and I’m gonna go see Allegiant. I really hate they didn’t just do one movie and get it over with. I love that series, but I’m just ready for it all to end. What books did you add to your shelves this week?
Great books that you have added here!! Hurricane looks yummy!! Enjoy.

Ohh, lots of great books in there! I have What is not your is not yours on hold at the library. The last books I bought were 3 Lisa Gardner books that were on sale. After reading Find Her (Crime/Suspense Fiction Novel) I was interested to read more of her stuff!

Same feeling here about Allegiant! After I finished watching the third one yesterday, I was really feeling tired like why can’t they just end it now?? Hope you’ll feel better and have a good reading week ahead 🙂

I’ve only ever had one of what I think was a migraine, and ever since I’m a billion times more sympathetic (always thought a paracetamol would do it, I know, it’s terrible). Possibly the worst thing to get as a reader too! Take care. By the by, love the title ‘And the next day.’ Brilliant!

Ou I’ve heard good things about Starlight, Imperfect Chemistry and Study in Charlotte. They seem like great books. Enjoy!

Sorry about those migraines. Hope you’re doing better. I haven’t read Allegiant because it was spoiled for me. I don’t know if I ever will. Maybe one day. I’m still on the fence about seeing the movie. Hope you love it!
Yay for Imperfect Chemistry and A Study in Charlotte. Hope you at least like them!

Your new books look great! I enjoyed both A Study in Charlotte and Hurricane 🙂
I hope you’ll enjoy Allegiant tomorrow – I only just watched Insurgent yesterday, and I found it to be quite different from the book, but I’m not completely sure I remember things correctly.

Yuck on the migraine. That’s so great of you for helping out your sister and her family. Haha, I heard they split the final book up into a two-parter. Seems the thing lately.
Nice haul! I have a hard time resisting freebies, too.
