He’s gorgeous.

He’s reckless.

And he’s every woman’s dirty fantasy in the state of California.., except one… Quinn Ashby.

Recent graduate of Penn and top of her class, Quinn is whip smart, ambitious and interning as the new marketing coordinator for the Bexley Bruisers American Hockey League team. The last thing she needs is to waste her time on guys…especially one as lethal to her focus as Cash Brooks.

But once the bad boy hockey star tempts her into his world, threatening her professional future, she’s forced to decide whether to let him into her heart…or to leave him behind forever.

Review

3-red-stars

Perfect Sense turns out to be a good story, but it lacked something that I can’t quite put my finger on. I think the lack of insta-love is what really kept me reading. At times I found myself not wanting to put it down, but then it would drag and I was forced to call it a night. I haven’t read enough SR to be tired of the trope, but I felt like I’ve read this story before. All-in-all, I liked it but I’m just not head over heels in love with it. I’m sure hockey lovers everywhere will enjoy this book more than I did.

This story focuses on Quinn and Cash. I won’t lie, Cash kept things interesting. If Quinn hadn’t played hard-to-get, I think it would have tore the story apart. I love the fact that she’s smart and knows what kind of woman she wants to be. She’s very studious, so while she was totally in agreement with the entire female population about the hot badboy Cash, she was very much focused on school and her future. And my God, Cash tried to woo her socks off, but she held out for as long as she could. I wasn’t surprised to find that they both had secrets, and were scared to open up to each other. Cash more so than Quinn.

The ending was kind of abrupt, and not at all what I was expecting. I’m not sure yet if I’ll read the next book, but I’m a curious person when it comes to relationship endings and secrets, so I may take that leap. This is a good read that I’m sure lovers of the genre will appreciate. I’m not a hockey fan, but Cash may just make me change my mind. If you like sports romance, this may be the book to add to your shelf. Recommended!

  1. Sounds like another middle of the road kind of read. I am so not gonna bother. I need some four and five star reads. I don’t have the capacity to deal with anything less right now. I’m doing enough of it on my own.

  2. Ahh, I love when the heroine doesn’t go all mush brain and fall all over the hot hero at first. I think I like Quinn already.

  3. 2 claps for the girl who doesn’t immediately fall into the arms of a charming man lol I like that she played hard to get and wasn’t easily won over. I haven’t read any SR but I may venture out a bit. Good review 🙂

    Quite a Novel Idea

    • I hate cliff hangers too, but I think some authors count on readers buying the next book to finish the story. I think that is what irks me sometimes, but it is what it is. A lot of NA books are written like this, which is why I don’t really read as many as I would like.

  4. It seems like this one was a good book, but it wasn’t entirely unique. Thank goodness for it having no insta love though! I think what I like most about it is that although it did get slow sometimes, it was never too easy. It was still enough for you to keep happy while reading it.

    • I don’t really watch hockey, but I’m curios to check out the team about 45 mins from where I live. We don’t have a team here in AL (I don’t think, but we may have), but Columbus, GA has one because I see ads all the time when I go that way.

  5. I don’t read as much sports romance, either. But I like the idea that she keeps her focus. And secrets.
    Sounds good!
