one of the magical mobs that run the tourist town of Cloudburst Falls.
Everyone knows Victor Draconi wants to take over all the other Families–and kill every last Sinclair. What they don’t know is that I’m on to him, and no way will I let the man who murdered my mom get away with hurting all the other people I care about. Especially when I’ve got places to break into, stuff to steal, and Devon Sinclair fighting right by my side…

I am so sad to see this trilogy end, but it went out on a good note. Finally, a finale that I’m satisfied with this year! I love this world and these characters, and I can’t wait to start the Elemental Assassin series, that this world is a part of. I think Estep did great on creating a world for young adults to enjoy, while also giving her adult fans a less intense world to enjoy. Is it less intense? If so, then the EA series must be off the chain, because I absolutely love everything here. From the monsters, to the magic, the heroes and villains alike – they all make this trilogy truly enjoyable. The only reason that I didn’t give this book 5 stars, is because I felt that one disastrous moment was very predictable. Other than that, I think this book did the trilogy justice. In fact, I love this more than the previous books.
Lila, savior of the day. This books picks up right after the last book ended. Now that Lila is on to Victor’s plans, she tries to outwit him at every turn. To fail would be to say goodbye to all the families and her friends. In the short time that she’s been with the Sinclair family, Lila has found her place beside Devon. Sure, she still does her thing when it comes to thievery, and that will never change. The whole plot of this book is to defeat Victor Draconi. The man is a sadist! I’m sure I’ve read my fair share of a-hole antagonists, but Victor is in my top 10 that I despise. From the moment book one opened up, we’ve known that this day would arrive. Victor killed Lila’s mother, so her hatred for him has been pretty hot since the beginning. Add in the fact that he’s out to power-up by killing the other families with black blades, and Lila’s hatred is now so intense I’m not sure if she sees anything else. And so, it is time for the big family dinner. It can only end in chaos.
I love how this trilogy ends! Lila has grown a lot, even though it’s been such a short time. I’m glad she finally let her feelings show and stop trying to be such a hard-head. I’ve rooted for Devon Sinclair since the beginning. I’ve always loved his character. Chivalry isn’t dead ladies! Even the characters that I didn’t like in the beginning, I find myself liking now. Deah Draconi being one of them. I love how she stood up for what’s right and finally saw that her father is an evil bastard. She has been trying to please that man her entire life. Of course, we can’t forget our pixie Oscar. He added just the right amount of humor, especially when he’s high on sugar! I love his Texas drawl, and the way he tries to be so hard in the beginning. I understand why he didn’t want to get attached, but when you care for someone who is brave and loyal, like Lila, it’s hard to ignore. I’m going to miss Felix and his flirty ways. There are a few characters that I wanted more from, but all-in-all, this is a great trilogy to read. Highly recommend!
Estep’s new Black Blade series is about 17-year-old thief Lila Merriweather, who has a Talent for sight, along with the ability to take magic others used against her to boost her own powers. She tries not to get involved with the Families who control much of the town, but ends up in the middle of a potential turf war.
I am reading this one right now and it’s sooooo good. Happy it was a good ending.

It’s wonderful when a series you love ends on such a good note. It really seems like this one doesn’t disappoint at all. You seem to have loved everything – the story, the way it winded up and the urban fantasy side of things too. I need to read this trilogy so badly!

I really enjoyed the whole trilogy, but I guess it was the anticipation of finally taking on the villain that was worth diving right in.

This was awesome and I was bumped for it to end, but I kind of think she left it open to be revisited.
