Stacking the Shelves #78

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, that spotlights the books we are adding to our shelves; whether they be virtual or physical.

In My Mailbox

I made a trade for Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between, which I have been dying to read since last year. I won a HC of My Kind of Crazy from Blackplume’s Celebrating Debutantes 2016, and received Remember to Forget for review from Blink YA.

I’m hoping to start The City of Mirrors tonight, and not put it down until I finish. I’ve waited forty forevers for this book. Chasing Eva is one that I was apprehensive about accepting, since it’s obviously about a hot billionaire and his Eva. Yeah, you see where I’m going with this. But after reading the first chapter excerpt, I decided to see where it all leads. Just the names alone are giving me head trips. I’m all over contemporary YA this year, so I was stoked to be on the blog tour for The Season of You and Me. I hope that it’s a great as it looks.

In addition to the other summery reads from a couple of weeks ago, I’ve still been going at them with more Sarah Dessen. I’ve not loved all of these, but I have really enjoyed the writing and just the light-hearted fun of being in Colby. Dessen has turned me into a fan. I’ve already read 5 of her books this month, and am hoping to get in a couple more before it’s over.

That’s all for me these last 2 weeks. What books have you added to your shelves? Hope you all have an awesome weekend. Go! Listen to some Prince and jam like I have this week. He will truly be missed. *Jams to Musicology*

  1. Wow great haul! I can’t wait to read City of Mirrors. I will have to reread the first two before I ever get to that one though. My Kind of Crazy looks good as well. OH, Along for the Ride! That’s the Sarah Dessen novel that I read. I loved it. 😀

  2. I enjoyed Sarah Dessen a while back. I enjoyed The Truth About Forever, but I think Just Listen was my favorite book by her. I’ve had some misses with her, as well, though. I wonder what I’d think of her writing if I picked up those same books today. Enjoy your books, Lekeisha! 🙂

  3. LOL, it does feel like we’ve been waiting for The City of Mirrors for like eleventy billion years! It’s been soooo long since I read The Passage and The Twelve that I don’t know if I’ll even remember much going into book three so I may have to wait until I get time for a reread 🙂

  4. Awwww! I LOVE all of your books for this week and The City of Mirrors looks like it should be good! ❤ I wonder what that all about! I'm also interested in the Sarah Dessen books! Do they feature the same characters from the same books or are they different characters?

    • She writes great stories for young adults. Some of the things that annoy me in YA now, may not have back when I was a teen. So I feel her books are so perfect for all teens, and it’s great that your daughter has her books. I am thinking of buying them all for my cousin for Christmas, because devours contemporary YA for breakfast.

  5. I’ve been thinking about trying out Sarah Dessen books and until now I haven’t gotten my hands on one. Definitely soon. Do you have any recommendations on where I should start? 😀

  6. I’ve only read two Dessen books before. I wasn’t a fan of Along for the Ride, by I adored her Dreamland. Maybe not a summery read though? It’s more emotional than cutesy. And ahhh, I really need to read Jennifer E. Smith’s new book. I don’t know why I still haven’t picked it up!

    • I actually like Along for the Ride. Not a total fan of Auden, but I love Eli. I have read all the ones here and I haven’t outright hated any, as the lowest rating is 3 stars. Still haven’t 5 starred one yet.

  7. I really like Robin Constantine’s books so I hope you like this one. I’m excited to read it myself. I’m very curious about Chasing Eva. I’ll be looking forward to your review of it.
Happy reading and have a lovely weekend! 🙂

  8. My Kind of Crazy and Chasing Eva stand out to me from the cover! I have read two Dessen books but the sad thing is that I haven’t been able to enjoy either of them at all and it kind of scared me off trying anymore of her books for a while. I’m curious to know what you think of those ones in the end and maybe I’ll try a third one of hers to see if my opinions have changed over the years.
