These are all the books that I’ve added for the last month or so. I’ve also been DL the audiobooks from Sync since they started this summer. Can’t wait to get started on them.

I Almost Forgot About You by Terry McMillan -gift from my SIL for her book club next week. Really excited to read this, as I haven’t read a book by Terry in a long time.
The Girl from Summer Hill by Jude Deveraux -Goodreads giveaway win.
Change Places With Me by Lois Metzger -FC from the publisher. I already have the ARC of this, so I’m gonna either donate this to my library, trade, or just do a giveaway.
Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella -won from the ladies over at WinterHaven Books. I’m actually hoping to start this one tomorrow, if I finish the others I’m reading.
And the Trees Crept In by Dawn Kurtagich -won from NOVL‘s monthly ARC giveaway. I have been reading nothing but contemporary, but I started this and am almost done. Definitely creepy, and I’ll have to check out her debut soon. I usually don’t even read this genre until at least September.
One Paris Summer by Denise Grover Swank – For review , and I must say it’s slightly disappointing. I’m sure you’ll get my full thoughts next week.
Frayed by Kara Terzis -This book lacked a whole lot of things, but I devoured it in 2 sittings, hoping it would get better. I know that all books that were once Wattpad sensations aren’t all bad, but I think I’m done for a while.

I’ve already devoured Cream of the Crop and loved it. Not as much as the first book, but still a nice addition to the Hudson Valley series. Can’t wait to read the next book! I love books that focus on mental health, especially in YA. Detached, however, kinda missed the mark. There was a whole lot of narrative about Anna’s mental state, but not enough about her overall character. Review to come next week! I’m looking forward to reading the rest of these.
I know, I know. I have been absent a lot lately, and that’s due to a lot of things, but mostly my sister has been back and forth to the hospital, and appointments. It’s really a lot since she has to go 2 hours away because there are no specialists that deal with TM at either of the hospitals here. I’m also dealing with a lot of other personal things, and I’m stressed the hell out. Also, I’m sick of all the hate and stupidity that is going on in this world. Can’t we all just get along?!! I’m grateful that my cousin wasn’t a casualty in the Orlando shooting, but I am deeply hurt for all the others involved and their families. I just cannot see myself bringing a child into this messed up world that we live in. It’s that simple. I’m tired of all the political machinations, and just….everything! Okay, rant over. What books have you added to your shelves lately?

I completely feel you about this messed up world. I wish there was more acceptance in this world but at this point it seems too much to ask for. I’m sorry about your sister. I hope that soon the doctors appointments can stop. Hope you are doing better soon as well. Anyway great book haul this week, hope you are able to get to some of them despite your busy schedule. You’re almost done with And the Trees Crept In? I assume that means it’s good. Haha. I got this one from BEA and I really like the author as a person but I wasn’t completely sold on her first book (Dead House). It was interesting but I had higher expectations for some reason. A lot of my friends adored it though.
Anywho, I hope this week is kinder to yoU!

I am pretty sick of the politics as well—I just hate how long they last for. They just drag them out until you want to ignore anything pertaining to it. Great group of books here. I have been wanting to pick up Alice Clayton and have been hearing good things about her latest series. And Yes for Jude Devereaux…love her work. Hope you enjoy Girl From Summer Hill. Happy Reading

I adored Finding Audrey. It was a really cute and funny book and I hope you like it too. I’ve been hearing lots of negative things about Frayed. I have a copy but I doubt I’ll read it now. I’m just not enthusiastic about it anymore.
And yay, I’m glad you liked Cream of the Crop. I think I’ll read it this week and I can’t wait.
I’m sorry to hear about your sister. I hope she gets all the help she needs. But the driving must be so frustrating.
I feel the same way about the hate going around. It’s so tiring to see things like this happen over and over again, with absolutely zero progress made to curb them. I just get angry and so helpless when I think of it.

I’m sorry about your sister Lekeisha. I hope she has a doctor who’s helping. That’s quite a nice group of books you have. Hopefully they can help you escape the real world for a little while.

Yes, her doctors are amazing. She just gets so tired of it all, but she is doing better than she was when it first hit her last year. And I’ve been reading a lot while sitting in her hospital or waiting rooms. I have to, otherwise I’d have a nervous breakdown.

She is doing okay, for the most part. Her sisters have been keep her busy a lot, because we don’t want her to get depressed again. Julie, her mom, has been kept away for that purpose. I really do not like her, but she’s his mother. You would think that after all the hate between our families over the last 3 decades, she’d be more supportive. We live in AL, and her family has never gotten over her marrying my uncle. The divorce was hard on all four kids, but Josh/Gia took it the hardest. Now she has to put up with hee mother’s bigotry. I pray that she lives her life the way she wants.

You got a nice stack for this week. I read The Girl From Summer Hill- it was funny, but the heroine got on my nerves a bit. After reading a different book by him, I’m curious about your Jay Kristoff book and Finding Audrey looks cute. Hope it’s good.
Hmm, yes, this week of hate and ugliness was tough and especially for you who are tired from helping family. Hopefully this week will be better for you.

I’m trying to stay positive about everything, but to wake up and see the headlines pisses me off all over again. Reading helps a lot. I can’t wait to read The Girl from Summer Hill, so look out for my review.

There are so many books I want to read in this post, I don’t know where to start! I’ve been hearing the most wonderful of wonderful things about Nevernight so I really want to get to that one as soon as it’s released. And I’m so excited for Swank’s new book! I think it’s her first YA series? But this is a fantastic haul! Looks like you have a lot of great books to read over the next few months!

I have read Swank in the past, and wanted to try this YA contemporary from her. It wasn’t a bad read, but not great either. I think fans of Stephanie Perkins will love it though.
