Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases we are eagerly anticipating.
This Week I’m Waiting On…..
The Inexplicable Logic of My Life by Benjamin Alire Saenz
Publication: March 7th 2017
Publisher: Clarion Books
Genres: YA, Contemporary, Cultural
From the multi-award-winning author of Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe comes a gorgeous new story about love, identity, and families lost and found.
Sal used to know his place with his adoptive gay father, their loving Mexican-American family, and his best friend, Samantha. But it’s senior year, and suddenly Sal is throwing punches, questioning everything, and realizing he no longer knows himself. If Sal’s not who he thought he was, who is he? This humor-infused, warmly humane look at universal questions of belonging is a triumph.

Why Am I Waiting?
Next year will be all about reading Bicultural & Multicultural books. I love reading diverse stories, and there are quite a few that I want to add to my shelf and read as soon as possible. A Mexican-American family seems like a perfect fit. I haven’t read Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe yet but I have it on my shelf, and everyone always recommends it; so I’m eager to try this author. What book are you waiting on this week?
Love this author and this sounds great!!

I read Aristotle and Dante and quite liked that one, so it would be interesting to see what his second book could add to the mix. I didn’t even know he was going to be releasing another one. You have my interest here…

Oh, this sounds like such a WONDERFUL story!! I’m definitely VERY interested in reading it, as I, too, love multicultural stories. Plus, I love coming-of-age novels. This one sure looks like it’s spiked with humor and all the awkwardness of growing up! GREAT PICK!!! I’m adding it to my Goodreads shelves!!
Thanks for sharing! Also, thanks for visiting my blog and commenting on my own WOW post! So sorry for the late comment back….. Hope you have a TERRIFIC weekend!!

YES! Multicultural for the win – we need more of that in YA. It’s too bad this book publishes in March, so far away! It’ll be here before we know it though. 😀 I hope you enjoy this book when you get a chance to read it!
Have a fantastic week, Lekeisha. =)

I hear it’s wonderful. I need to finish up all the books I added to my Kindle over the last few months first. And, I still have my OwlCrate books stacked in a pile. Too much to read. 😂
