Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases we are eagerly anticipating.
This Week I’m Waiting On……..
The Chemist by Stephenie Meyer
Publication: November 15th 2016
Publisher: Little, Brown and Company
Genres: Adult Fiction, Thriller, Suspense, Mystery
In this gripping page-turner, an ex-agent on the run from her former employers must take one more case to clear her name and save her life.
She used to work for the U.S. government, but very few people ever knew that. An expert in her field, she was one of the darkest secrets of an agency so clandestine it doesn’t even have a name. And when they decided she was a liability, they came for her without warning.
Now, she rarely stays in the same place or uses the same name for long. They’ve killed the only other person she trusted, but something she knows still poses a threat. They want her dead, and soon.
When her former handler offers her a way out, she realizes it’s her only chance to erase the giant target on her back. But it means taking one last job for her ex-employers. To her horror, the information she acquires only makes her situation more dangerous.
Resolving to meet the threat head on, she prepares for the toughest fight of her life, but finds herself falling for a man who can only complicate her likelihood of survival. As she sees her choices being rapidly whittled down, she must apply her unique talents in ways she never dreamed of.
In this tautly plotted novel, Meyer creates a fierce and fascinating new heroine with a very specialized skill set. And she shows once again why she’s one of the world’s bestselling authors.

Why Am I Waiting?
I’ve been waiting on something new from Meyer since I read The Host, back in 2008. And no, Life and Death: Twilight Reimagined doesn’t count; which is why I haven’t read it. Since there is no release date for the sequel to The Host, this new book will have to hold me over until then. Hopefully, it will be a great read. What are you waiting on this week?
I’m with Tammy, I like Meyer so I will definitely check this one out – thanks Lynn 😀

Nice pick! I’m really curious about this one since its been a while since we’ve had a new book from her. Nope, I’m not counting the life and death one either. Which I’m also not reading. Seriously though I wish she could come out with the sequel to The Host!

I really want more of The Host. That ending was left wide open. Especially Wanda’s character.

Wow. This is the first time I’ve heard of this.
I actually read the Twilight books… yeah… I haven’t read The Host though; but I liked the movie.

I’m actually a big Stephanie Meyer fan although I guess it’s not cool to admit that. I will definitely read this too!

Cool or not, I’m gonna always read her books. If I’m being honest, she made me start seeking out the YA genre. Before Twilight, I only read literary and historical fiction; so I’ll always consider her a favorite author of mine. Even if she has been slacking lately. LOL!

I think I’ll be skipping this one! I haven’t had much success with Meyer’s books in the past. I hope everyone gets that sequel to The Host though. 😀 Happy reading, Lekeisha!
Thanks for visiting my blog! Have a wonderful week. =)

I’m always going to read this one, because I’ll read anything she writes. Am I annoyed that it’s not the sequel to The Host? Yes, very much so. Will I still read it nonetheless? Of course. As you said, I hope it ties us over…

Yes, I am ready to dive back into her writing. I just have a feeling it will be a good one.

This surprised me too! She’s had us waiting for years on the sequel to The Host, so this was a shocker.

I never actually got through the Host, was she supposed to write a sequel?

I did a little research, she has partially written drafts of both of the other books, but she has a major writing block when she comes to it

The book has been up on Goodreads for a few years, but there’s no blurb or cover. I just figured that would be next, but this is a nice surprise.
