This week I’m waiting on……

22062213Etched in Bone by Anne Bishop

Publication: March 17th 2017

Publisher: Roc

Genres: Adult Fiction, Urban Fantasy, Paranormal, Supernatural

New York Times bestselling author Anne Bishop returns to her world of the Others, as humans struggle to survive in the shadow of shapeshifters and vampires far more powerful than themselves…

After a human uprising was brutally put down by the Elders—a primitive and lethal form of the Others—the few cities left under human control are far-flung. And the people within them now know to fear the no-man’s-land beyond their borders—and the darkness…

As some communities struggle to rebuild, Lakeside Courtyard has emerged relatively unscathed, though Simon Wolfgard, its wolf shifter leader, and blood prophet Meg Corbyn must work with the human pack to maintain the fragile peace. But all their efforts are threatened when Lieutenant Montgomery’s shady brother arrives, looking for a free ride and easy pickings.

With the humans on guard against one of their own, tensions rise, drawing the attention of the Elders, who are curious about the effect such an insignificant predator can have on a pack. But Meg knows the dangers, for she has seen in the cards how it will all end—with her standing beside a grave.

Why am I waiting?

I’m obsessed, I admit it. I really need help because I’ve reread this series 3 times (twice since July), and I can’t get over how creative and detailed it is. From the characters to the laws that govern the people. Human law doesn’t apply in certain parts of this world, and Bishop does a great job with bringing out the best and worst parts of humanity. But let’s be honest, we are all team Others. The humans in this book make me sick. They want to take and take and take, when the land doesn’t even belong to them. I love the terra indigene, even if they are scary when provoked. I just want Simon and Meg to fall in love (well, it seems they already are in love but don’t recognize what it is), and live HEA. I’m scared. That description is not helping my nerves! Whose grave will Meg be standing beside?

If you haven’t started this series, I can’t recommend it enough. Seriously, go and read these books. What are you waiting on this week?

    • This is the final book (#5) so you really won’t have too many to catch up on. I read the first one back in May and I immediately wanted to continue but I didn’t have the other books. In July I binge read the other 3 within 2 days. Very addictive series.

  2. OMG. YES. I can’t wait for this one. But I refused to believe that Montgomery’s sniveling little brother will bring them more trouble than the rest of HFL movement. So, I feel comforted by that.

  3. And another series I haven’t started yet, but at least I’ve got the first two books since based on everyone’s reactions, I’ll be binging them. 🙂 This latest sounds great, too.
