25215823 I really enjoyed reading Like Candy, so when I saw this sequel I had to request it. I try so hard to stay away from NG, EW, and Amazon. I’m trying to do a million and one things, and requesting or buying more books right now is not what I need to be doing. I’ll see how long this will last. Luckily, all of my library reads have been on my TBR for years.

Zora and Me is one that I’ve wanted to read for years. I’m already about 25% done with it, so maybe I’ll finish over the weekend. Couldn’t resist the next Finishing Schoolso C&C was a must. Am I the only one who hasn’t read 1984 by George Orwell? I have been meaning to read it since I was a teen, but never got around to it.  I’ve never read a book by Mary Morrison, but someone suggested that I try her out since I love E.J. Dickey. We shall see how If I Can’t Have You goes. And it’s about time that I started on the Kate Daniels seriesso MB was a must grab.

What books did you add to your shelves this week? Hope you all have a great weekend!

But what Alayna didn’t figure on is Hudson Pierce, the new owner of the nightclub. He’s smart, rich, and gorgeous — the kind of guy Alayna knows to stay away from if she wants to keep her past tendencies in check. Except, Hudson’s fixed his sights on her. Blog Tour: The Summer of Chasing Mermaids by Sarah Ockler

The youngest of six talented sisters, Elyse d’Abreau was destined for stardom—until a boating

accident took everything from her. Now, the most beautiful singer in Tobago can’t sing. She can’t even speak.

Seeking quiet solitude, Elyse accepts a friend’s invitation to Atargatis Cove. Named for the mythical first mermaid, the Oregon seaside town is everything Elyse’s home in the Caribbean isn’t: an ocean

too cold for swimming, parties too tame for singing, and people too polite to pry—except for one.

Christian Kane is a notorious playboy—insolent, arrogant, and completely charming. He’s also the only person in Atargatis Cove who doesn’t treat Elyse like a glass statue. He challenges her to express herself, and he admires the way she treats his younger brother, Sebastian, who believes Elyse is the legendary mermaid come to life.

When Christian needs a first mate for the Cove’s high-stakes Pirate Regatta, Elyse reluctantly stows her fear of the sea and climbs aboard. The ocean isn’t the only thing making waves, though—swept up in Christian’s seductive tide and entranced by the Cove’s charms, Elyse begins to wonder if a life of
solitude isn’t what she needs. But changing course again means facing her past. It means finding her inner voice. And scariest of all, it means opening her heart to a boy who’s best known for breaking them…
