Kindle Kandy #1

Kindle Kandy Plain

Kindle Kandy is a Friday weekly meme, hosted by The Book Dame, that spotlights books on our ereaders that we have had for a while, but have yet to read.

This is my first KK, and I have waaaay too many books that I have not read on my Kindle. To pick one is impossible, so I’ll just start off with 2 for now. These 2 have been waiting to be read for years now, and I’m sort of ashamed to have not given them my attention. *Covers link to Goodreads*

9219239College freshman Leesa Nyland has been fascinated by vampires since she was three years old. That’s when her mom started acting weird, refusing to go outside during the day and insisting the sunlight hurt her skin because she had been bitten by a one-fanged vampire…

But fascinated doesn’t mean Leesa believes—any more than she believes in blue fire, people who live for centuries, and kisses that can kill. When her beloved older brother suddenly disappears, she is forced to confront all these and more.

17410908Jade loves her new apartment-until a ghost joins her in the shower.

When empath Jade Calhoun moves into an apartment above a strip bar on Bourbon Street, she expects life to get interesting. What she doesn’t count on is making friends with an exotic dancer, attracting a powerful spirit, and developing feelings for Kane, her sexy landlord.

Being an empath has never been easy on Jade’s relationships. It’s no wonder she keeps her gift a secret. But when the ghost moves from spooking Jade to terrorizing Pyper, the dancer, it’s up to Jade to use her unique ability to save her. Except she’ll need Kane’s help and he’s betrayed her with a secret of his own to do it. Can she find a way to trust him and herself before Pyper is lost?

There are maybe a thousand more distributed between my 3 ereaders and computer. I’m trying to do better! I was thinking doing a spreadsheet to organize them all and start with the oldest to newest. Hopefully, these 2 aren’t that far down on the list because I really want to get to them soon. What Kindle Kandy have you got to share? Come on people, don’t be selfish!

Sophia’s family has skeletons, but they aren’t in their graves.

At twenty-two, practicing Wiccan Sophia Parsons is scratching out a living waiting tables in her Rocky Mountain hometown, a pariah after a string of unsolved murders with only one thing in common: her.

Sophia can imagine lots of ways to improve her life, but she’d settle for just getting rid of the buzzing noise in her head. When the spell she casts goes wrong, the static turns into voices. Her personal demons get company, and the newcomers are dangerous.

One of them is a man named Charles, who Sophia falls for despite her better judgment. He has connections that might help her unveil the mystery surrounding her ancestor’s hanging, but she gets more than she bargains for when she finally decides to trust him.

Survival in his world, she learns, means not asking questions and staying out of the immortal council’s way. It’s a line she crossed long ago. If Sophia wants to survive the council and save the people she loves, she must accept who she is, perform dark magic, and fight to the death for her freedom.

The Forever Girl is a full-length Paranormal Fantasy novel that will appeal to lovers of paranormal romance, urban fantasy, witches, vampire fiction, ghost stories, paranormal mystery, and paranormal horror.

Review: Dead End by Tim O’Rourke

18340273  Release Date: May 30, 2014

Publisher: Ravenwoodgreys

Series: Kiera Hudson Series 2, book 10

Genre: Mature/Adult Paranormal

Format: Kindle (181 pages)

Source: Purchased

Rating: 5 stars

Goodreads | Amazon

Description: Fighting for her friends and fighting for her life, Kiera Hudson must finally unravel the pushed world and its secrets. But most of all, Kiera must make her choice. A choice that she fears will change everything and the lives of her friends forever.

Does Kiera have the heart to choose them or choose for them?

My Thoughts: What a great end to the second series for Kiera and the gang! I have been a fan of this series since the very first book, Vampire Shift (Kiera Hudson Series 1, book 1). I have all of the books from both series and I can’t get enough of them. Vampires and werewolves, what more do you need? Well, let’s see…. obviously the characters have to be amazingly described and the world building has to be up to par. Tim O’Rourke gives you that, times 10. He not only keeps it so mysterious and suspenseful, but he makes you fall in love with the characters. From the brave MC, Kiera, to the sarcastic Potter (I do love his character), this series is just awesome.

From the moment Kiera Hudson steps into the mysterious town of Ragged Cove, she has been a fighter. She is headstrong and will not back down from what she believes in. Finding out the truth about her parents and undergoing a transformation that even she didn’t see coming, has been well worth the struggles that she has been through. She manages to fall in love along the way, and that love gives her the strength to carry on and set the world right again. I could read the books forever and still not get enough.

I can’t review this without giving away key plot points, but if you haven’t read this series, then you need to. Especially, if you love vampires and werewolves. Although, this series has a different take on both creatures. I really love the whole vampyrus and skin walkers take that is happening in this fantastic world that Tim created. Can’t wait for the new series to come later this year! Again, great ending for the series.
