Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases we are eagerly anticipating.
This week I’m waiting on……
The Radius of Us by Marie Marquardt
Publication: January 17th, 2017 by: St. Martin’s Griffin
Genres: YA, Contemporary, Romance
The Radius of Us is a contemporary romance story between a boy fleeing gang violence in El Salvador and a girl coming to grips with a harrowing assault, revealing the power of love to transcend. Publication for Radius is slated for fall 2017.
Why am I waiting?
Okay, so the blurb doesn’t give away much, but I love diverse reads. I love the cover, which is what made me stop. I have yet to read her debut, Dream Things True, but I will soon. What book are you waiting on this week?
Sounds pretty dang good to me.

Hmm sounds intriguing from the small blurb! I would love to see some reviews on this one first though. 🙂

This book seems good. I haven’t too much to wait on right now since I’m a bit far behind on my reading.

Understandable. I’m catching up on my TBR, somewhat. I can’t stop borrowing from the library, and that’s mostly my problem. Last year it was too many ARCs, but I am doing better on that front.

oh this sounds interesting but I am like you….I do love diverse reads.

UGH. So, I think WordPress ate my comment? If you get this message twice, I IS SO SORRY. I basically said that like you said, the cover gave you pause, GIRL it did that to me too! So I hope that when you read it, you enjoy it! And I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it! ❤

I’M ALL about diversity so when I saw the couple on the front GIRL, I did a double take! I hope you enjoy it when it comes out and I’m excited to see what you think about it! ❤

Thanks! I’m hoping it pops up on Netgalley or Edelweiss soon because I’m gonna be stalking for it.

Hehe, I’m a math teacher so I kind of love this of course. That is a very long time to wait though… I’m looking forward to September and Colson Whitehead’s (swoon) new historical novel “The Underground Railroad.”

I think if you aren’t really into contemporary then you may not like it. That’s all I want to read right now.

I’ve read Dream Things True last year, but unfortunately I DNF’d it at 10%. The story was just all over the place girl, hopefully this one is better. I’m a little apprehensive about picking it up though lol

I think your review is what made me hold off on reading it. I really hope this one is great.

El Salvador, interesting! We don’t get too many books set in non-USA settings, in terms of USA/UK-published YA books. I hope you enjoy this book when you get the chance to read it, Lekeisha!
Thanks for visiting my blog! Have a wonderful week. =)

The blurb doesn’t give away enough for me so I’m still pretty wary of this one. I’m going to wait until you have read this one and shared a review before I decide whether or not this is one I want to read as well! It does sound fairly promising though 😀

Ahh! I loved the sound of her first book too and it was so disappointing because her writing was very clinical. And this one sounds amazing too, but I’m wary for sure. I’ll have to wait and see what others think.
Thanks for sharing!

I think that’s why I haven’t read it yet, because a lot of reviews stated the same things about the writing.

A boy from El Salvador already has my attention perked up. I like the diversity angle, too.

I really hope that it’s a great read. Not everyone can pull off the diversity angle. I want more than just a POC, I need cultural things going on as well. You can’t have one without the other, which is what some authors miss when writing about characters that are different from them.

I’m eagerly waiting for End of Watch, by Stephen King and My Lady Jane, by Cynthia Hand, Jodi Meadows and Brodi Ashton. And then of course there’s the new Charley Davidson book out later in June.
