New York has Jacobs, Paris has Chanel, Milan has Versace and Tokyo has . . . Hello Kitty toilet plungers? With its cute-obsessed catalogue and magazine market, anyone who is anyone knows that modeling in Japan means being at the bottom of the fashion industry. Blake, Jess, and Hailey are doing their best to survive yet another casting where pigtails and toddler-impressions are a must when they stumble upon the opportunity of a lifetime. The prestigious Satsujin company has selected them to compete for a campaign that will transform the winner from commercial nobody to haute couture superstar faster than you can say Vogue Italia.

Wow thanks for this feature Lekeisha! You definitely have a vibrant community here and I love that your post piqued so much curiosity. Interesting note about the cover being unconventional. I hadn’t really realized it but I suppose it is. Anyway, keep being awesome.

I’m very curious about this one, Lekeisha. The fashion industry is such a tough place to work, it seems, and I can’t imagine being far away from home, in a country where everything is so different, and still feeling that cut-throat atmosphere everywhere…

Interesting although i sort of agree. In Asia/Southeast Asia, Koreans are the biggest fashion influencers. Japan is just too quirky and kooky for wearable fashion lol

I thought the girl on the cover looked a bit disturbing, then I read ” pigtails and toddler-impressions are a must”. Sounds strange, but I’m totally curious!

Very interesting premise but I have got to say that cover is very off-putting, so I’m glad I read the synopsis. Thanks for sharing!
