Stacking the Shelves #82 + Challenge Updates

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews, that showcases the books we are adding to our shelves; whether they be virtual or physical.

Only two of these are for review, The Real Peter Pan: The Tragic Life of Michael Llewelyn Davies by Piers Dudgeon, and Exile for Dreamers by Kathleen Baldwin. Thank you St. Martin’s Press and Kathleen!

Won from Scholastic’s #IReadYA week. Keep Me In Mind by Jaime Reed, Rescued by Eliot Schrefer, It’s All Your Fault by Paul Rudnick, The Memory of Light by Francisco X. Stork, Everland by Wendy Spinale, The Secret Language of Sisters by Luanne Rice, Two Summers by Aimee Friedman, Kill the Boy Band by Goldy Moldavsky, See How They Run by Ally Carter, Drag Teen by Jeffery Self, Unbecoming by Jenny Downham, The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater. Yeah, I almost peed my pants when I opened the box. Also got that awesome tote (I’m obsessed with them) and cute button.

Won from Penguin Teen’s #ReadProud campaign. Highly Illogical Behavior by John Corey Whaley, The Inside of Out by Jenn Marie Thorne, Hold Me Closer: The Tiny Cooper Story by David Levithan, Grasshopper Jungle by Andrew Smith, I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson, Everything Leads To You by Nina LaCour, Half Bad by Sally Green. Since I’ve already DNF’d Half Bad earlier this year, I’m donating both my Hardcover and this paperback to the library. Or should I at least try to finish it? Is it worth it?

Netgalley/Edelweiss

Blog Tours: The Killer In Me by Margot Harrison, You Before Anyone Else by Julie Cross & Mark Perini.

The Girl from Venice by Martin Cruz Smith, Yesternight by Cat Winters

I’m so behind on updates for challenges that I’m doing this year. Here’s where I’m at so far.

2016 TBR Pile Challenge: 22/50

2016 Netgalley Edelweiss Challenge: 22

2016 Goodreads Reading Challenge: 129/150

I think I’m doing well on them all, though I’d like to read more physical books from my TBR pile. Mostly I’ve been reading ebooks. I haven’t requested a lot of books from NG/EW, but most of the ones I’ve read so far are requests from last year, or for blog tours this year. I’m still managing to stay above 80% this year, which is my goal. Now, I just have to keep at it. I’ve only DNF’d 4 books so far this year, and I’ve listened to 4 audiobooks. I know, I know. I suck. I’m really trying to get better, but I have a lot of stuff going on in my life right now. How are you guys doing on challenges you’re participating in? What books have you added to your shelves this week?

  2. Woah, what a fantastic haul Lekeisha! I really want to read Highly Illogical Behaviour and Everything Leads to you is seriously one of my favourite books. I struggled with Half Bad too, it was intriguing and different but isn’t for everyone. You’ve done really well with your challenges so far, you’ve read so many books!

  5. Two big wins!!!! Way to go! That will keep you busy for a while. Above 80% is great for NG/Edelweiss. I do know what you mean about wanting to hit the TBR Pile hard. You’re doing great on your challenge numbers, but don’t feel bad that you put RL first. 🙂 Books will always be there when you’re ready.

  6. Woahhhh I’m super jealous of your haul! I think all the books are on my TBR, except for GRASSHOPPER JUNGLE, which I’ve read and absolutely LOVE, and KILL THE BOY BAND, which I didn’t like too much unfortunately. Happy reading!!! 😀

I’m super excited to hear what you think of Yesternight. I didn’t request it because I have too many books to read atm, but I’ll be getting a copy when it releases for sure.
Good job on those challenges too!
